Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
It is a human thing to think. Every individual operates out of a basic set of convictions about reality, truth, meaning, and how the world works. As thinking creatures, we create, perceive, absorb, and base our thinking upon certain intellectual assumptions that, in essence, allow the world to make sense to us. All of this results in what is called a "Worldview."
Every person has a worldview, believers and unbelievers alike.
The great challenge for the Christian is to craft a worldview that is distinctively Christian in its shape, substance, and structure.
The Christian is not only to live in obedience to Christ, but is also to serve Christ through the development of a distinctively Christian mind. Apart from the Word of God this is impossible. Paul wrote to the Romans and in chapter 10 stated, "So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God." Faith is then established upon truth in which we view all areas of life.
In Matthew 22:37 "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind."
More about this in the near future!
