Melody Boys

Once again we enjoyed the Melody Boys Quartet in concert Tuesday evening March 29th.  This was the third time we hosted this southern gospel quartet.  It was a great blessing and a joy to fellowship with them afterwards.

A special thanks to Bro. Big "G" McKoy who recorded this.

WMA Sponsored Valentine Dinner - Missionary Jeff Franks Speaker

Sunday evening the fine ladies of our Women's Missionary Auxiliarly provided a wonderful meal that was enjoyed by all.  We appreciate all their hard work, praying, planning, and preparing all kinds of activities that emphasize and promote missions.  Donations given Sunday evening totalled $400.00 for missions!

Jeff Franks, missionary to Ukraine, was guest speaker.  He shared with us the blessings and challenges of serving in the country of Ukraine.  It was a blessing to hear Brother Jeff share his heart and the ministry the Lord has called him to do.

I have included some pictures of the dinner on our "Have a Look" Link.

Philippians 4:8 and the Mind

Philippians 4:8  "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

It is a human thing to think.  Every individual operates out of a basic set of convictions about reality, truth, meaning, and how the world works.  As thinking creatures, we create, perceive, absorb, and base our thinking upon certain intellectual assumptions that, in essence, allow the world to make sense to us.  All of this results in what is called a "Worldview."

Every person has a worldview, believers and unbelievers alike.

The great challenge for the Christian is to craft a worldview that is distinctively Christian in its shape, substance, and structure.

The Christian is not only to live in obedience to Christ, but is also to serve Christ through the development of a distinctively Christian mind.  Apart from the Word of God this is impossible.  Paul wrote to the Romans and in chapter 10 stated, "So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God."  Faith is then established upon truth in which we view all areas of life.

In Matthew 22:37  "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind."

More about this in the near future!

Christmas Eve Service

We had a great attendance for our Christmas Eve service Friday.  Pastor Ernest and his Hispanic congregation joined us.  Bro. Big G and Bro. Eli played the guitars, Sandy on the piano and Bro. Gil led in the singing of Christmas carols.  We read the account of our Savior's birth in Luke 2:1-20.  Several testimonies were given and then a question was asked about the neccesity of Christ's virgin birth.

Bags of treats were given to the young people (and some adults) as we dismissed.  Praise God for His presence and His people!

Recent Rain and Mud Report

Wow, what a storm!  But I am happy to say we did not suffer any damage to our buildings or property.  Praise the Lord for the block wall we erected this summer.  No water entered any areas where the wall stood.  We did have water and mud come onto our property through the chain link fence across the north parking lot and lots of water and mud onto our drive approach.  All the mud has been removed from our driveway and the majority of the mud from the north of our parking lot has been removed.

I am so very thankful to our God for providing for us the means to protect our buildings.

Looking forward to our Christmas Eve Service Friday at 5:30pm!

Many thanks to Big "G" for posting our choir cantata on our You Tube site.....what a great job he did recording and posting.  Choir, you were outstanding!

God Bless,

Pastor RLB
