"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.."
- Jesus Christ (John 10:10)

What we believe

Doctrine matters. Since our actions and attitudes are a reflection of what we think and believe, we want to know and believe the truth. The sovereign God of the universe has spoken and what He said is of utmost importance. Our desire as Christians and our vision as a church can be summarized quite simply: we want to know and do what God has said so that we can please Him and give Him the glory.
Everything we teach, the way we relate to one another and the decisions we make are all guided by our commitment to the Word of God. Our doctrinal statement is a summary of the major themes and truths of God's Word and it allows us to serve side by side in unity and love. For a full copy of our Doctrinal Statement of Faith, please contact us.
Here are some things we want you to know:
First and foremost, we believe that the Bible—God’s Word—is our sole and supreme source of absolute truth. We hold it to be infallible and without error. We submit to its teachings and affirm its authority.
We believe what the Scriptures say about us. The Scriptures are clear that we, along with all humanity, are born sinful and are enemies of God the Creator. We agree that our sin separates us from God. We believe the Scriptures when they tell us that we cannot achieve God’s standard of holiness. We recognize that we need redemption and that there is nothing we can do to achieve it.
We believe the Word of God when it says that God has purchased our redemption through the death of his son, the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe the Bible when it says that Christ was the incarnate God-man who lived a sinless life, who died a violent death, and who came back to life in a victorious resurrection.
We believe that Christ has suffered for our sins and literally died. He then rose again on the third day. When we repent of our sins and put our faith in Him, His righteousness is credited to us. We believe that we can stand in boldness before God the Father, wearing the righteousness of Christ like a garment.
We believe all of this to be truth. We believe it to be the ultimate reality with which every human being must reckon. The Bible calls this “the gospel,” the “good news” of God’s redemptive work.
Therefore, we will seek to...

Temple Baptist Church: Vision
Worship
...provide experiences of worship that embrace both the joy and holiness of being in the presence of God and our desire to draw close to Him.
Prayer
...make prayer the cornerstone of all we do as a church. We seek to be known as a “House of Prayer.” No decision will be made except that it is bathed in prayer and every effort made to discern the will of God. Prayer will hold a primary place in our worship experiences, be foundational in all our planning, activities, and ministries.
Bible Study
...reach, teach, and care for people of every age group and life situation. We will be diligent in establishing relevant Bible studies for the spiritual growth of believers and to engage the lost and unchurched to bring them into a right relationship with Jesus Christ.
Discipleship
...have a solid discipleship plan that enables new and present believers to discover, develop, and exercise their God-given gifts of service. We will seek to call out, equip, and guide people into effective leadership for the various ministries God lays before us.
Ministry
...lead believers to embrace an eagerness to live a servant lifestyle, both inside the church and in our community and world. We believe that God calls every believer to be a servant-minister. Through ministry God opens many doors for us to share the Gospel in our secular world.
We believe God has called us to be a church where the hurting, the depressed, the frustrated or the confused can find love, acceptance, help, hope, forgiveness, guidance, encouragement, and when needed, salvation.
Mission involvement: missions is our mission!
...go beyond our church to carry the love of God and His salvation to others. We believe God is calling us to send out missionaries into the world on short-term and long-term projects. We at Temple Baptist Church are to encourage God’s empowerment on every member for a personal exercise of mission service in our world. This will take place as we obey the Great Commission and equip believers to specific mission service opportunities.
